Through the use of interactive educational cards, children can be lead into discussions around the origin of several every-day foods. This program includes cards which represent the three stages of a food before arriving on the plate: where it grows, the whole food it comes from, and the finished food we eat.
It is important for children to understand where the foods on their platecome from. Educators can lead mealtime discussions around this topic or may use the cards for classroom lessons. Children should try to recreate the three stages of each food.
The cards included in the kit don’t have any written language and colours are used to represent corresponding food groups in accordance with the intercultural food pyramid.
Through this learning, the children will become more curious about the food that they are eating.
