About Danone Institute Education Programs
Danone Institutes organize a number of continuing education programs for health professionals. The programs aim to provide health professionals with up-to-date knowledge that may be useful for clinical nutrition practices. They take a multidisciplinary approach combining medicine, biology, and the human sciences.

Danone Chair - Belgium
Every year, a French- and a Flemish-speaking University in Belgium organize the Danone Chair, a course presented by a Belgian or foreign scientist. The Danone Chair, aims to present recent developments in the field of human nutrition, is intended for a multidisciplinary University audience and includes at least 15 hours of lectures over a period of one to three months. The content of the course is published as a monograph by the Danone Institute.

Masters in Paediatric Nutrition - Italy
Every year since 1998, Danone Institute, Italy has organized a two-day “Master’s” course for pediatricians, which is accredited by the Italian Ministry of Health as a form of continuing professional education for medical doctors. The courses, which are given by teachers from the Pediatric Clinic of the University of Milan with the support of the Italian Society of Pediatric Nutrition, focus on children’s diet and health.

Grande Covian-Danone Institute Chair - Spain
Created in 2003 , The Grande Covian School of Nutrition is a one-week training course for health professionals, graduates and public servants. The school, which takes place in August in the University of Santander, combines academic lectures with practical workshops.
The 7th edition will be held from 27 to 31 July 2009. The programme will introduce new topics of great practical and conceptual interest in the following modules: anthropology of food and nutrition, obesity, nutrition and immune response, nutrition and public health, and functional foods.

The Nutrition Leadership Institute® - USA
The Nutrition Leadership Institute provides talented nutrition post-doctoral graduates with the perspectives and skills essential for them to become more effective leaders in academia, government and industry. This program provides intensive training to identify and reinforce both personal and professional leadership attributes. Participants also have the opportunity to meet with and gain perspective from nationally recognized leaders in the field of nutrition. This 5 day program is held in alternating years.

National Clinical Nutrition Internship program - USA
The National Clinical Nutrition Internship program provides medical students with a stronger foundation in nutrition science that may help them to prevent and manage disease with nutrition behavior change. This program, which is usually eight weeks long, in the summer, is administered by the American Society for Clinical Nutrition (ASCN) and the American Medical Student Association (AMSA).
