Feeding Behaviors

The overall health situation is influenced by many factors; some of them are known, predictable, and more or less subject to influence, some of them definitely are not. Undoubtedly, nutrition is one of the most important predictors of population health and life quality; therefore circumstances connected with nutrition are extremely important. Feeding behaviour seems to be one of the parts of the “black box”, where such factors like inborn and learned preferences, cognitive behaviours and natural reflexes meet to create a conglomeration of challenges for current and future research.

Danone Institutes consider feeding behaviours in humans to be a key factor in understanding the links between diet, nutrition and health.

Since 1997, our network of Danone Institutes has developed a wide range of local and international initiatives related to this subject:
- the funding and supervision of research programs
- the publication of books and monographs
- the development of a bibliographical database
- the development of information for health professionals and for the general public
