Recognized as one of the most distinguished scientific Awards in nutrition, the Danone International Prize for Nutrition will be continued with this new announcement. As a reward for the development of novel concepts in nutrition, the Danone International Prize for Nutrition encourages the advancement of frontiers in nutrition. Awarded by Danone Institute International, a not-for-profit organization with the mission to develop and communicate scientific knowledge on food, diet and nutrition to benefit public health, the Danone International Prize in nutrition disseminate breakthroughs in nutritional research which improves public health.

On behalf of the Prize Committee of this 8^th Prize issue, I welcome you to nominations outstanding candidates who have made distinguished and continuing achievements in novel nutrition concepts. Nominations must be received by November 15^th, 2010.

Danone Institutes are not-for-profit entities which link scientists involved in human nutrition with health and education professionals. They support nutrition research programs and provide diet and nutritional information including : information on eating behaviors, dietary guidelines, nutrition events and nutrition organizations. The Institutes focus particularly on, Nutrition and child development, early childhood nutrition and childhood obesity prevention.
