The third Danone International Prize for Nutrition was awarded to Professor Alfred Sommer and his research team from the John Hopkins School of Hygiene & Public Health, Baltimore, USA, for their remarkable research work on vitamin A deficiency and its impact on blindness and childhood mortality.
