Professor Johann Auwerx, Laureate of the 2009 Danone International Prize for Nutrition
The 7th Danone International Prize for Nutrition is awarded to Professor Johan Auwerxof the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland in recognition of his outstanding contribution to scientific research on the effect of nutritents on cell metabolism and the consequences on metabolism, metabolic diseases, and homeostasis.

The official announcement of Professor Johan Auwerx as the recipient of the 2009 Danone International Prize for Nutrition took place on October 6, 2009 at the 19th International Congress of Nutrition in Bangkok, Thailand.
 

On this occasion, Professor Johan Auwerx gave a special lecture of his work, followed by a prestigious ceremony and a cocktail party. The Danone Institute International Team is really pleased to award Professor Johan Auwerx who has developped such a novel concept in nutrition.
