The 2005 Award Ceremony Professor David Barker, Laureate of the 2005 Danone International Prize for Nutrition The 5th edition of the Danone International Prize for Nutrition has been  awarded to Professor David JP Barker of Southampton University UK  and The Oregon Health and  Science University, USA for his pioneering role in the area of diet, nutrition and chronic adult disease. The award ceremony took place on September 20th in Durban, South Africa during the 18th International Nutrition Congress.

Danone Institutes are not-for-profit entities which link scientists involved in human nutrition with health and education professionals. They support nutrition research programs and provide diet and nutritional information including : information on eating behaviors, dietary guidelines, nutrition events and nutrition organizations. The Institutes focus particularly on, Nutrition and child development, early childhood nutrition and childhood obesity prevention.
