The 2003 Award Ceremony

The 2003 Danone International Prize for Nutrition was awarded to Dr. Ricardo Bressani on November 11th, 2003 during an official award ceremony attended by approximately 400 people from the international scientific community.
Keynote speakers present on the night, in order of appearance:

- Mr. Jérôme Boesch, General Manager of Danone Mexico
- Mr. Jacques Vincent, Vice-chairman and COO of Groupe Danone
- Dr. Bernard Dastugue, Representative of Fondation Recherche Médicale
- Prof. José E Dutra de Oliveira, Chairman of the 2003 Danone International Prize for Nutrition
- Dr. Ricardo Bressani, winner of the 2003 Danone International Prize for Nutrition
- Lic. Alberto López Rosas Martin (Major Constitutional President of Acapulco de Juárez)
- Lic. René Juárez Cisneros (Constitutional Governor of Guerrero State)
- Mr. Enrique Rios Espinoza (Mexican Health Department, Representative of Mr Vicente Fox, Constitutional President of Mexico)
The speeches were followed by a cocktail party with traditional Mexican specialities to eat and drink. Mariachi musicians serenaded the guests who enjoyed the festive atmosphere and spectacular views over the city of Acapulco.

Danone Institutes are not-for-profit entities which link scientists involved in human nutrition with health and education professionals. They support nutrition research programs and provide diet and nutritional information including: information on eating behaviors, dietary guidelines, nutrition events and nutrition organizations. The Institutes focus particularly on, Nutrition and child development, early childhood nutrition and childhood obesity prevention.
