This site has information on National Breastfeeding Awareness Week (held every year in the UK during May), advice on promoting breastfeeding, promotional material including downloadable leaflets to give out and lots of useful links.

This site has the Infant Feeding Survey 2000 available in pdf format. The Infant Feeding Survey is conducted in the UK every five years and the 2000 survey is the sixth national survey of infant feeding practices. The survey provides figures on the incidence, prevalence and duration of breastfeeding and other feeding practices adopted by mothers in the UK up to around nine months after the baby's birth. The Infant Feeding Survey 2000 was published in May 2001.

The National Childbirth Trust runs a network of local support groups, as well as ante- and post-natal classes. There is a dedicated breastfeeding line from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week on 0870 4448708.

A network of breastfeeding counsellors who can give support and information over the phone to mothers who are experiencing challenges with breastfeeding. The supporter line (0870 900 8787) puts you in touch with a local breastfeeding counsellor and is open 9.30am to 9.30pm, seven days a week.
